Plot Review
Une affaire de femmes is filmed based on the true story of Marie-Louise Giraud, guillotined on July 30, 1943, for having performed 27 abortions in the Cherbourg area. In the film, the housewife of Mary illegally terminates unwanted pregnancies for a hefty fee. As her income increases, she is seduces by her affluent lifestyle. Meanwhile, Mary ignores her shell-shocked husband and has extramarital affairs with Lucien. Eventually, her disgruntled husband turns her over to the authorities.
